An eight-lug configuration gives the drum a slightly more open tuning feel, creating a responsive main-snare voice that can remain present in both live and recorded mixes.

The rare quilted figure creates a three-dimensional grain pattern across the shell. A deep-red dye intensifies that movement beneath a high-gloss finish, while Custom Antique Brushed Black Nickel hardware provides a darker visual boundary. Black Camo Carbon Fiber inlays continue the contrast through the medium spear-point lugs and port hole. Each Royalton lug is CNC-milled from solid aircraft-grade aluminum.
