This deep Mahogany stave snare is built for players who want warmth, weight and a broad low-mid presence. Mahogany's naturally rounded character is reinforced by the 8-inch depth, producing a substantial voice with a softer attack than Royalton's denser exotic hardwood drums. The result is a full-bodied instrument that can deliver a wide, authoritative backbeat without becoming overly sharp.
A satin finish preserves the wood's deep reddish-brown color and straight grain, while chrome hardware and Synthetic Pearl inlays provide a classic contrast. Royalton's small spear-point lugs are CNC-milled from solid aircraft-grade aluminum, giving the shell a distinctive profile without overwhelming the mahogany. The pearl treatment continues across the lugs for a unified, traditional appearance. Handcrafted in the USA as a one-of-one Royalton instrument.

Sonic Profile
-
Attack
Rounded, fat, and warm. The softer mahogany shell (800 lbf) and roundover edges soften the initial transient, producing a broad, authoritative backbeat rather than a sharp, piercing crack.
-
Tone
Deep, rich, and full-bodied. A classic, dark foundation with a massive low-mid presence that excels at low to medium tunings.
-
Sustain
Deep and controlled. The massive 8-inch depth creates lingering low-end body, while the naturally porous mahogany and roundover edges absorb high-frequency ring for a smooth, musical decay.
