Dense Leopardwood gives this 6.5 x 14 stave snare a crisp, immediate response with strong articulation and projection. Its focused voice makes individual notes easy to distinguish, while the 6.5-inch depth retains enough body to keep the drum from sounding thin or one-dimensional. The combination is well suited to players who want a precise, energetic main snare that can remain present in a dense mix.

The satin finish lets Leopardwood's naturally spotted grain remain the visual centerpiece. Black-chrome hardware provides a dark frame for Death Valley Copper Foil Carbon Fiber inlays, creating a copper-toned accent that changes character as light moves across the drum. Royalton's medium spear-point lugs are CNC-milled from solid aircraft-grade aluminum and carry the same inlay treatment as the port hole. Handcrafted in the USA as a one-of-one Royalton instrument.

  • Attack

Fast, crisp, and immediate. The exceptionally dense Leopardwood shell and 16-strand wires produce a highly articulate strike with strong note definition.

  • Sustain

Focused and controlled. The roundover edges naturally tame excessive overtones, while the dense wood yields a quick, bright decay that won't clutter a dense mix.

  • Tone

Bright, energetic, and cutting, retaining just enough low-mid body from the 6.5-inch depth to prevent the drum from sounding thin.
