This hybrid stave shell combines a Maple interior with a Zebrawood exterior, bringing together maple's balanced warmth and Zebrawood's firmer, more articulate character. At 7 x 14, the drum has enough depth for a full, authoritative backbeat while retaining the clarity needed for detailed playing. The eight-lug configuration supports a slightly more open feel, making this a distinctive main snare with a broad, complex voice.
The satin finish keeps Zebrawood's bold striped grain in full view. Custom Antique Brushed Black Nickel hardware provides a dark industrial contrast, while Gold Camo Carbon Fiber inlays add warmth and movement across the medium spear-point lugs and port hole. Royalton's lugs are CNC-milled from solid aircraft-grade aluminum and appointed to complement the hybrid shell. Handcrafted in the USA as a one-of-one Royalton instrument.
