Gaboon Ebony's exceptional density gives this 8 x 14 stave snare a firm, immediate attack and a highly focused fundamental. The deep shell adds physical weight and low-frequency body beneath that definition, allowing the drum to sound powerful without becoming indistinct. With eight lugs and a substantial 0.375-inch shell, this instrument is positioned as a commanding, character-rich main snare for players who want both presence and depth.
The nearly black natural color of Gaboon Ebony is protected by a high-gloss finish and paired with black-chrome lugs and black-nickel hoops. Damasteel inlays introduce a patterned metallic accent across the medium spear-point lugs and port hole, creating subtle contrast rather than competing with the wood. Each Royalton lug is CNC-milled from solid aircraft-grade aluminum. Handcrafted in the USA as a one-of-one Royalton instrument.
