Tom Prusak has been an avid craftsman and drummer his entire life. Over the years he's collected a vast amount of knowledge and understanding on wood, including its anatomy, structural properties, unique characteristics, and its ability to be used for just about anything. More specifically to make solid wood stave drums.

After successfully making his own stave snare from Goncalo Alves, he reached out to Spenser Syphers about crafting him a drum of his own. Spenser, drummer of internationally touring metal band Jungle Rot, and craftsman of his own decided to not only take up Tom on his offer but to build the drum along side him. Together they created a beautiful masterpiece constructed of solid Macassar Ebony, proving to be unlike any drum they had ever heard or seen. After producing this drum they decided that the world needed to see what they were capable of and what the solid stave construction combined with expert craftsmanship could produce. Thus Royalton Drum Company was born.

Not long after, friend and colleague Josh Charnigo was invited to the team to help design, machine custom parts, and produce these incredible drums. Coming from the aviation industry Josh was more than capable of the precise application needed to create such a product. The team soon began designing their own custom hardware with the help of world class knife designer and friend Jared Van Otterloo. Jared who has been crafting and designing custom knives for many years knew what the team had envisioned and helped them produce their first line of signature hardware unlike anything the drumming community has ever seen. These new spear shaped lugs combined with beautiful inlay work made the drums stand out in a class of their own. Now constantly refining the process and working with materials of the highest quality and visual appearance, Royalton Drums have created something the world of music never knew it needed.
